Hi! Really adore the hard work you are doing to document the monuments of Connecticut. Wanted to let you know Bridgeport is re-dedicating the Soldiers & Sailors Monument @ Seaside this Saturday with a restored Lady Liberty. Details can be found on our home page, bridgeportct.gov

If you can’t make it, I’m going to try to go and take some pictures.

Love your site! keep up the awesome work!

Regarding the “Dictator” monument to the 1st CT Heavy Artillery, my great-great grandfather Octave Bruso of the 50th NY Engineers mentions seeing it in his diary. Even during the war it was an attraction! 😉

      “Sunday July 24, 1864:

Cloudy. In Camp. Wrote to my wife, my sister and to Uncle. Went out walking to see the Petersburg Express. Rained all night.”
